Buying wholesale sandals in the UK
Sandals are the strongest summer line for most ladies' footwear resellers. Here is how to buy them at wholesale in the UK — what sells, how cartons work, and how to protect your margin.
1. Know which styles move
The reliable sellers are flat everyday sandals, comfort sliders, heeled mules and embellished occasion styles. Flats and sliders sell in the highest volume to the widest age range; heeled and diamanté styles sell fewer pairs but at higher retail prices. A balanced first order is two or three everyday styles plus one occasion style.
2. Buy by the carton, price by the pair
Wholesale sandals are sold in cartons — typically 12 pairs of one style in a fixed size run. Divide the carton price by 12 to get your per-pair cost, then compare it to the retail price your customers expect. Most resellers aim for 2–3× the per-pair cost. At Iris London, sandals work out at roughly £6–£10 per pair at wholesale.
3. Buy early — and from UK stock
Sandal demand rises fast from April and peaks in June and July. If your supplier ships from overseas, a reorder can take weeks and you miss the season. UK-held stock means you can reorder a selling style and have it back on the shelf within days. Every style at Iris London sits in our London warehouse, so there are no import delays or duties.
4. Reorder winners, drop losers
A one-carton minimum lets you test cheaply. Watch which styles sell through in the first fortnight, reorder those, and mark down the slow ones early rather than sitting on them until autumn.
